Last updated: October 11, 2026

1About these terms#

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name — to confirm] (“Ashore”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of Ashore, including the website and the Ashore mobile app. By creating an account or using Ashore, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Ashore.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.

2Your account#

  • You must be 16 or older to use Ashore.
  • You sign in with an email code, Google or Apple. Keep access to that email address and sign-in method secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Your account is for you alone. Don’t share it or let other people use it.
  • If you think someone else has accessed your account, tell us at [contact email — to confirm].

3Free plan and Ashore Pro#

Free plan. Without paying, you get one diagnostic mock test with a full report, the review lessons, and the first lesson of Unit 1.

Ashore Pro. Ashore Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks more of Ashore. It costs US$19.99 per month or US$39.99 every 3 months. Payments are processed by Stripe. The price shown when you subscribe is the price you pay. If we change prices, the new price applies from your next billing period after we tell you.

4Renewal and cancellation#

  • Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and you are charged for the next period, until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time. You can cancel in Settings, which opens the Stripe customer portal.
  • After you cancel. You keep Ashore Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled under applicable law and the rules of the platform you paid through, such as Stripe or an app store. To ask about a refund, email [contact email — to confirm].

5Acceptable use#

When you use Ashore, you agree not to:

  • misuse Ashore or interfere with how it runs, including trying to get around security, usage limits or payment;
  • use bots, scripts or other automated means to access, scrape or attack Ashore;
  • resell, rent or share access to Ashore, or use it to offer a competing service;
  • copy, reverse engineer or redistribute Ashore’s software, questions or lessons, except where the law allows it;
  • upload content that is unlawful or infringes other people’s rights, or record other people without their permission.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6AI feedback and scores#

Ashore uses AI to transcribe your speech, diagnose errors and estimate band scores. These are estimates for practice only. They are not official IELTS scores, they can be wrong, and they don’t guarantee any result on test day. Don’t rely on them for decisions such as university applications or visa plans.

7Not affiliated with IELTS#

Ashore is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. Ashore’s questions are written in the style of the test and are not official test questions.

IELTS is a trademark of the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

8Your content#

Your recordings and answers belong to you.

You give Ashore a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, transmit, transcribe, analyze and otherwise process your content, only as needed to provide Ashore to you. This includes sharing it with the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy. The license ends when you delete your account.

We will only use your recordings to improve Ashore if you turn on the setting that allows it, as described in the Privacy Policy.

9Ashore’s content#

Ashore’s software, questions, lessons, design and brand belong to Ashore or its licensors. While you follow these Terms, we give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Ashore to prepare for the IELTS Speaking test.

10Changes and termination#

  • We keep improving Ashore and may add, change or remove features.
  • You can stop using Ashore at any time and delete your account in Settings.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if the law requires it.
  • Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends, such as ownership of content, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law, continue to apply.

11Disclaimers#

Ashore is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Ashore will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using it will raise your IELTS score.

12Limitation of liability#

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ashore will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of Ashore. Our total liability for any claim relating to Ashore is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

13Governing law#

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law — to confirm], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer law of the place you live gives you more protection.

14Changes to these terms#

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Ashore after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
