A simpler answer
Checked at band 6.5 · 173 wordsI want to talk about my colleague, Chen. This happened last autumn, on a Friday lunchtime, in the small dining area at our office. We had finished eating, and he started talking about his hobby, which is keeping old cameras. I don’t know much about cameras, and I don’t usually find them interesting. He told me how he bought his first one at a second-hand market, and he showed me a photo of it on his phone. He also talked about how he cleans the cameras and looks for parts online. He spoke for about twenty minutes. I had planned to go back to my desk, but I stayed there and listened. I kept listening because he was happy when he talked about it, and I didn’t want to be rude. Also, he asked me a few questions and explained things in a simple way. I still wasn’t interested in collecting cameras, but it was nice to hear about something that mattered to him. After that, we had a better conversation at work.
