Describe a beach you would choose for a quiet afternoon. What is around it, and where would you spend most of your time?
The beach I'd choose is just outside a busy coastal town, with rough sand and dark rocks along one end. Behind the beach, there is a narrow road and a single grocery store. It doesn't have many cafes or bright signs. I like sitting near the rocks, where I can hear the waves clearly. The water looks green close to the shore and darker farther out. I don't usually swim there. I take off my shoes and walk where the sand is wet. It's a good place to spend an afternoon without planning much. What makes it peaceful is the lack of constant activity around the water. There are usually a few families and people walking dogs, but enough space between them that I can hear the sea instead of several different speakers playing music.
